Our Story

How did New Life Meals come about? 

I spent the last few months of my pregnancy planning for what postpartum would look like and dedicated a lot of my time to food preparation. My sister-in-law also spent the first few days with us after our son was born. Honestly? Without her and without that food prep, I am sure I would not have faired as well in postpartum as I did.

I knew I wanted to help other women in the same way pretty soon after that. I know not everyone has family nearby that can stay after a baby is born (my sister-in-law traveled from another country and we honestly did not expect that support!). Many new grandparents are still working and can't take long chunks of time off. Maybe the new parents don't want to have a bunch of family come over right after a birth. But everyone still needs to be supported.

Prior to birth, I looked for a postpartum meal prep company that could fit my family's needs - but I couldn't find any. We had another adult in the home and most companies seem to only provide for the new mom - leaving the new dad and any other individual in the home to fend for themselves. And while, yes, mom is recovering from childbirth, dad is still a new dad with other concerns besides food - diaper changes, work, other children, home concerns, etc... - and still needs to be supported.

I meal prepped for my own family but I still wished there was a company that could fit my needs. After my layoff, I decided that I would make that company! That's where New Life Meals was born - from a need to support every member of the family after a new life enters the home.
